Getting to know Tealium
When you visit Tealium’s About Us page, you’ll quickly discover that the company is no stranger to receiving accolades. In addition to being honored by Red Herring as one of the top 100 technology companies in North America for 2013, it was also named the market leader in enterprise tag management by Econsultancy, a U.K.-based research firm. Proof in the pudding comes in the form of record sales announced just last month.

“During the third quarter ending Sept. 30, Tealium signed more than 50 new enterprise clients, including 10 from the Internet Retailer 500 (IR500) list, which ranks the top online retailers in the country,” reported Utilizer, an online media outlet focused on technology. “Tealium now has 52 clients on the prestigious IR500 list, including 18 in the Top 100. Select new clients added this quarter include Dimension Data, Karmaloop, Lacoste, Jelly Belly, Trulia, Avis Budget Group Europe, Alex and Ani, Wine.com, Cbeyond, Mozy, and many others.”

Tealium, which first got its start in 2008, isn’t new to its leadership role in tag management. Out of all available tag management solutions, it continues to hold top ranks. A list of the ranking tag managers includes Google’s free service, which unsurprisingly comes in at No. 1. For paid solutions, Tealium is second in line.

For those unfamiliar with the concept of tag management, tag-based applications are leveraged by marketers to obtain data about website visitors. And although this information is incredibly valuable when devising marketing strategies, too many tags can slow down a website and can effectively cancel out the features that were implemented to improve the user experience in the first place. A tag manager keeps those tags in check.

According to the Tealium website, the company’s solution “puts marketers in control of their online solutions, making it easy to deploy new vendor tags or make edits to existing ones without burdening developers. Through Tealium, enterprises improve marketing and IT agility, reduce costs and accelerate website performance. In addition, Tealium provides a rich source digital visitor data to help marketing teams improve the effectiveness of customer acquisition and retention campaigns.”

At NetSphere Strategies, Tealium was chosen as a preferred tag management partner due to the competitive advantage the company offers to our eCommerce clients that employ a wide variety of third-party apps. The philosophy to provide a heterogeneous solution has helped our clients when managing installed tag-based apps, but it has also helped to maintain Tealium’s upstanding reputation in the marketplace. Tealium’s solution supports every digital marketing tag imaginable, and when new tags are developed, they are quickly integrated into Tealium’s tool, too.

“For each digital marketing vendor featured in our marketplace, Tealium has assimilated the vendor’s tag and implementation guide directly into the Tealium iQ console – making deploying new vendors easier than ever,” Tealium explains. “To add a new vendor, simply click on a vendor’s logo, add some account details, and hit publish!”
